Auto part number refers to the physical number of auto parts, including virtual product number and management number for technical, manufacturing and management needs. The numbering rules are as follows:

1.    Enterprise name code: when the use of auto parts patterns involves intellectual property rights or when the company name needs to be marked in the product R&D process, the company name code approved by the relevant department can be marked on the front (which can be omitted when used internally). The enterprise name code consists of 2 or 3 Chinese Pinyin letters.

2.    Group number: the group number uses 2 digits to represent the classification code of each Function system of the vehicle. There are 58 group numbers for domestic auto parts.

3.    Sub-group number: The sub-group number uses 4 digits to represent the code of each assembly and assembly device in the system. The first 2 digits represent the group number it belongs to, and the last 2 digits represent the sequence number within the group. There are 638 sub-group numbers.

4.    Part number: the part number is also called as "part sequence number", with 3 digits representing the codes of part, assembly and assembly device.

Numbering rules for domestic auto parts: in accordance with the provisions of the Numbering Rules for Auto Product Parts promulgated and implemented by the China Automobile Industry Union on January 1, 1990, a complete auto part number is composed of the company name code, group number, sub-group number, part number, structural division number, change history code (or repair part code), etc.
